Charles Lee Bridges

CHAPIN – Charles Lee Bridges, 75, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 26, 2012. Mr. Bridges was born January 29, 1937 in Portsmouth, Virginia and resided in the Columbia area since 1969. Mr. Bridges is survived by his wife of 56 years, Beverley Hardison Bridges and their children, Gwynn (Gregg) Brabham, Chip (Mona) Bridges and Marty (Jeanne) Bridges and nine grandchildren, Tara, Carla, Nick, Kevin, Neil, Kellie, Ben, Will and Clay, who loved their Papa. Prior to his retirement in 1991, Mr. Bridges enjoyed a long career with the Chrysler Corporation. His retirement years were spent traveling with Beverley and enjoying his grandchildren. Mr. Bridges was proud to be a member of the Lanterns at Seven Oaks Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to Seven Oaks Presbyterian Church, 530 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29210 for the Lanterns. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel was of great assistance to the family.
