Funeral services for Faye Alyce Haltiwanger Amick “Ms. Faye” will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10:00 am at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 11733 Broad River Road, Chapin, SC 29036 with interment at the church cemetery immediately following.
Ms. Faye was born March 5, 1935 in Little Mountain, SC and passed away January 3, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Eusebius Berley and Janie Lee Count Haltiwanger. A graduate of Chapin High School, Faye worked for 42 years at General Electric and another 16 for Walmart as a greeter. Her Walmart “family” holds a special place in her heart, and she was always being recognized around town as the “Walmart Lady”.
Ms. Faye loved to travel around the world and visited so many exciting places, bringing back special mementos of her travel and sharing her adventures with family and friends. Faye was a member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church and served devotedly on many committees. Ms. Faye never met a stranger, had a particular affinity for cashews, and always lived by her often-recited motto “think positive, and trust in God.”
She is survived by her daughter, Rena Faye Amick of Columbia; her adoptive family, Danny, Susan, Camryn, and Weston Clements of Little Mountain and many special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Ruth Turner, Hilda Boland, and Janelle Everman, and brother, Elvin Haltiwanger.
