Fred, the middle son of 5 boys, was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on July 23, 1944 to parents, Anthony and Angela Frank. Fred worked in a number of different industries, but spent the majority of his professional career as a Masonry Contractor and General Contractor.
Fred and his loving wife, Susan, met in Roanoke, Virginia in 1975 while Fred was working on a large Masonry project in downtown Roanoke. They were married in 1977 and, shortly thereafter, relocated to Columbia, South Carolina. They have called Columbia and the surrounding areas home ever since, where they went on to have two children together (Adam and Justin). They lived the majority of their days at their beautiful home on Lake Murray – a place that Fred loved dearly – raising their children and a number of loving pets (Dalmatians, rescues, and their famous cat, Duce).
He is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Kimberly (Randy), Adam, and Justin; daughter-in-law, Jessica; grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, Amber, and James; nephew, Anthony (Sarah); cousins and dear friends.
Fred was a brilliant man, and spent many of his days deep in thought or consumed with a problem that needed solving. He also loved to golf, watch football, play pool, travel, boat on Lake Murray, ride his motorcycle, and spend time with his family and friends. He made arguably the best turkey, stuffing, and spaghetti and meatballs there ever was.
A memorial service will be held at Lake Murray Presbyterian Church, 2721 Dutch Fork Road, Chapin, SC 29036 on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Family and friends alike are invited to attend in honor of Fred.
