CHAPIN – A memorial service for Jack Arnold Ripley, 83, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at White Rock Baptist Church, with Pastor Glenn Day presiding. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel, with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the White Rock Baptist Church, 1409 Peace Haven Rd., Chapin, SC 29169 and Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605.
Mr. Ripley was born November 28, 1934 in Union City, IN, and passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018. He was a son of the late William and Alma Clevenger Ripley. He was a member of White Rock Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Petty Officer, Second Class. Mr. Ripley retired from General Motors and was also a member of the VFW, American Legion and AMVETS, as well as a Mason and a member of Boyleston Lodge #123 of Ballentine, Eastern Star, Shriners, Scottish Rite and Gideons International.
Mr. Ripley is survived by his wife, Jannette, of Chapin; daughter, Janelle Brocki (David) of Muncie, IN; brother, Darrell Ripley of CT; sister, Rose Gourley of IN; brothers-in-law, Heyward (Joe) and Leonard Dailey; grandchildren, Kristen, Ryan, Chris, Joy, Wesley, Walter Jr. and Julie; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles; sister, Kay and son, Sean Ripley.
