
LITTLE MOUNTAIN – Funeral services for Jimmy Denning, 78, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at Chapin Presbyterian Church with interment in Antioch Baptist Cemetery, Falcon, NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chapin Presbyterian Church, 800 Old Lexington Hwy., Chapin, SC 29036.
Mr. Denning was born November 17, 1934 in Dunn, NC and passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013. He was a son of the late James R. Denning and Hattie Vann Denning. He served his country in the North Carolina National Guard. Mr. Denning was a dedicated Christian and a member of Chapin Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder. He retired as an executive with Gulf Oil Corporation and was later an executive with Palmetto Oil Equipment Supply. He was a member of the Pomaria Ruritan Club, the Carolina Cruisers RV Club and the Palmetto Ramblers RV Club.
Mr. Denning is survived by his sons, Jimmy Denning, Jr. and his wife, Cynthia of Greenville, SC and John M. Denning and his wife, Kristi of Rock Hill, SC; 3 grandchildren, David, Sarah, Hannah Denning; siblings, Ruth Williams of Wade, NC, Jean Greene of Clemson, SC and Jackie Highly of Mauldin, SC. He was predeceased by his wife, Johnnie Williford Denning.
