CHAPIN – Graveside services for Karen Amick Whiteside, 58, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chapin, SC. Memorials may be made to Children’s Chance Cancer Foundation, 13 Surrey Ct., Ste. 200, Columbia, SC 29212.
Mrs. Whiteside was born November 3, 1959 in Prosperity, SC, and passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018. She was a daughter of Irene and Lionel Amick. She was a 1977 graduate of Chapin High School and attended the University of South Carolina. Her places of employment included SLED, Wackenhut Security and Dutch Fork Produce.
Mrs. Whiteside is survived by her husband, Paul Whiteside, Jr. of Camden, SC; son, Brandon (Melissa) Amick of Eugene, OR; daughter, Kelsey (Bradley) Burgess of Columbia, SC; sisters, Wanda (Roy) Johnson of Chapin, SC, Sharen (John) Burt of Florida; brother, Brady Amick of Irmo, SC; nieces and their families, Heather (Jeremy) Harrison and Brier of Leesville, SC, Lisa (Trey) Weaver and Charlotte of Greenville, SC, Bronwyn, Tatji and Channing Burt of Florida. She was predeceased by her brother, Steve Amick.
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
