Ken and I had lost touch through the years but I still remember and treasure the memories we shared at jam sessions or pick ins.  RIP, buddy, and pick one for me.

We are so sorry for your loss and are mourning Ken’s passing with you.

The indelible mark he left on our souls is legendary and will live on forever. Our shared love for bluegrass, the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, and exploration — the very spirit of adventure that shaped who we became — are surely gifts that Ken and the Altman family inspired in our little gang of Woodsmen.

Anyone who knew Ken, as we did, knew you had to stay on your toes and be ready to meet one simple requirement, that a good time would be had by all. Ken, I must say — mission accomplished.

Mrs Peggy Altman and Chad,
I was so sorry to hear that Ken had passed.
I knew Ken several years ago when he and Chad used to come to Arkansas with Riley Johnson.  We would then drive on out to western Kansas to hunt pheasants for a few days.
I always thought a lot of Ken and those few days once a year that we were able to share have always been and will always be special memories for me.

Outstanding Athlete.  Excelled in sports: Football, Track and Field Hurdles (Pole Vault and High Jump), Basketball.
* Held the SHHS Pole Vault record for many years
*Won every Pole Vault competition in HS and represented SHHS in    the State tournament in Pole Vault & High Jump,
+ Kenneth had the best high jumping form and technique of anyone I have seen.

Peggy, I’m so heartbroken for the loss  of Kenneth. So many memories of Bi-Lo days and Christmas parties. What a great guy. Keeping you and family in my prayers. May God bring comfort and peace. Love you, Janice Jennings

Ken and I met in the early '80s while we were employed by the same company. Through the years, I am proud to say that we became close friends. We shared many good times together and made some great memories, usually centered around golf, fishing, meals and get togethers with family and mutual friends somewhere around Lake Murray. Ken never hesitated to lend a helping hand if it was needed. He was a true outdoorsman. He loved his family  unconditionally.
As we became older, we didn't get together or communicate as often as life, as it always does, took us in different directions despite living within a few miles of each other. That is something I will always regret. 
Peggy, Chad and Ann Marie, please accept my deepest condolences. Kenneth was force of nature and will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of calling him "friend."

Using a football analogy,82 is gone and somewhere 81 is crying. He was an athlete (held SHHS’s pole-vault record for many years), out-doorsman , a great football player and my friend since Junior High School.To Chad and Peggy, please accept my heartfelt my prayers and   heartfelt condolences. May God bless and keep him!

My sincere condolences to all of Kens' family.  Met Ken and Glen in the 7th grade and played ballwith them for a long time.  Two of the best on and off the field.  Loved both Glen and Ken, Bobby Lyon!!!!

Peggy, I am so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. I always enjoyed our time together and considered Ken a good friend. I always enjoyed our time playing golf on his visits to Johnson City. Judy and I will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless dear friend.

Many years ago I was talking to Ken and I told him that a man should be able to tell another man that he cared for him without being embarrassed  and I said you are a dear friend and I will always cherish our friendship, and Ken said  Charlie  I will always tell you I love  you whenever we talk  on the phone and we always did and I know that Ken knows how much  he meant to me. I will miss him terribly.

My deepest condolences to Peggy and the entire Altman family.   Ken was a popular classmate who was always cheerful and inclusive to everyone in our class.  I pray that God helps each of you navigate your journey to recovery from this loss.
