A woman of deep faith and devotion to her family, Linda was a longtime member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Chapin, where she faithfully served as church treasurer for 33 years and as a member of the church council. She also shared her gifts as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, and for many years sang joyfully in the church choir.
Prior to moving her membership to Mt. Olivet, Linda was a devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church in Denny Terrace, where she faithfully served as treasurer and as a member of the church council. Her commitment to both congregations reflected her deep faith and lifelong dedication to serving others through the church.
Linda retired in 2024 from Newberry Adult Education, where she had worked since 2001. Previously, she supported the family business, Branham Sheet Metal, working in the office for over a decade.
Linda’s greatest joy in life was her family. She never missed a game, event, or competition of her boys – band, baseball, or football – not one! She is survived by her three sons: Troy L. Branham (Margie) of Chapin, P. Heath Branham (Julie) of York, and Brady E. Branham of Lexington. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Christina Adkins (Ian), Mary Branham, Drew Branham, Libby Branham (Caleb), Brady Branham, Jr., Sydney Branham, and great-grandmother to Parker Adkins.
She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Nix (Bill); her brothers, Jimmy Cannon and Randy Cannon (Becky); sisters-in-law, Carolyn Carnaggio (Joe) and Margaret Cannon; brothers-in-law, Gene Hornsby and Mike Branham, Sr. (Linda); and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Frank L. "FL" Branham; her parents, Claude E. Cannon and Georgia Lee Cannon; her in-laws, Frank L. Branham, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Branham; her brother, Ronnie Cannon; sisters-in-law, Joyce Hornsby and Teresa Branham; and great-nephew, Christian Hornsby.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Nurse Karen Lundgren of Agape Care and to Megan Robison, her devoted daytime caregiver over the past months. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church General Fund, 11733 Broad River Road, Chapin, SC 29036.
Linda will be remembered for her generous heart, her constant faith, and the deep love she shared with all who knew her.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 6, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home in Chapin. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 7, at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Chapin.
