Lula Elizabeth Fulmer

Lula Elizabeth Wessinger Fulmer, 90, of Irmo, SC passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025. A funeral service will be held at Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Irmo on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 3:00 pm with visitation before from 2:00-2:45 pm.

Lula, or “Buba”, as she was affectionately known to numerous family members and friends, was born on September 29th, 1934 in Irmo, SC. During her younger years she worked at General Electric in Irmo. Buba was known for her love of gardening, always having an abundant vegetable garden and beautiful flowers. She had numerous outdoor animals and her bird feeders that she enjoyed watching. Nobody left “Buba’s house” without an ice cream cone, delicious cinnamon rolls, and a good laugh.

Mrs. Fulmer is survived by her sisters, Palmelia Meetze and Johnnie W. Bemis, as well as her beloved cat Charlie. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Wessinger and Rachel B. Wessinger; and numerous family members as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Furman Franklin Fulmer; parents, James E. and Fannie Wessinger; sisters, Frances Rickard and Letha Sites; brothers, Mervin Wessinger and Gary Wessinger; and niece Kira Bemis Stokes, nephew Henry Sites and great niece Brandy Marie Wessinger Medina. She is also predeceased by her faithful goat Petunia, who brought so much joy and laughter to the family.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Evelyn Taylor with Hope, Love & Compassionate Care for being such a sweet companion to Lula in her final years. Thank you to Generations of Chapin for their compassion and care during this time. Pallbearers will be Glen Wessinger, Kenneth Wessinger, Andrew Bemis, Lawson Bemis, Cooper Bemis, and Luke Stokes.
