Mary Ellen Weathers Masters, 95, of Chapin, formerly of Woodville Road, Ware Place, widow of James T. Masters, died Saturday, January 25, 2020. Mary was born July 29, 1924 in Greenville County. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Stewart Weathers and Nettie Baldwin Weathers. She was employed with the Greenville County School System for 34 years. Mary was a member of Fork Shoals Baptist Church and attended Chapin Baptist Church after moving to Chapin.
Mary Ellen is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Robert Dabney of Chapin; her grandson, Jeffrey T. McCraw of Myrtle Beach; and grandchildren: Tre Dabney, Melissa Ruggerio, and Susan Hancock, as well as 10 great grandchildren: Laura Ashley, Daniel, Jacob, Sarah, Charlie, Sofia, Jackson, Maxwell, Gavin and Greta, and 3 nieces: Judy Biser, Susan Williams and Lynn Mayfield.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Weathers, and her brother, Robert Weathers.
Funeral services for Mary Masters will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday January 29, 2020 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel, with Chaplin Brett DeYoung officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM that afternoon at Greenville Memorial Gardens in Greenville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to each service in Chapin and Greenville.
