His father was in the Airforce, and they moved to many places across the globe-giving him once in a lifetime experiences. He loved to tell stories about his childhood and also his work as he got older.
He was a police officer for the towns of Newberry and Prosperity. He went on to work as a correctional officer for Broad River Correctional Facility and retired from the US Army National Guard.
Some of his favorite memories are fishing, especially when fishing with his grandchildren. He loved watching his grandson feed the fish and enjoy the nature around the pond, such as watching the deer.
He loved animals, and held a special spot in his heart for his rescue dog, “Spike”.
He is survived by Elizabeth “Libby” Lever Cook, his daughters, Michelle Cook and Joy Guffey; grandchildren, Ethan Michael Hutcheson, Emily Stamey, Jacob Stamey, and Isaac Stamey. He is the middle of two brothers, Wendell Cook and Timothy “Tim” Cook.
He was predeceased by his father, E.M. Cook; mother, Betty R. Cook; grandmother, Ernestine Sawyer; and grandfather, Fletcher Rinehart
