After Graduating from Chapin High School, he went on to serve over 35 years with Lexington County in Chapin Fire Service and with Lexington County Sheriff’s Department as a Master Deputy.
He married Lillie Werts-Smith in 1990, together they shared 35 years. Scott was a proud father and Clemson fan. He was known for a kind and humorous personality that would make a memorable impression on those in his life.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Hazel Smith; wife, Lillie; daughter, Taylor-Marie; and sister, Crystal. He was predeceased by sisters, Michele and Connie.
A visitation/memorial of ashes drop-in will be held at Caughman - Harman Funeral Home - Chapin Chapel, 123 Columbia Avenue, Chapin, SC 29036, on Saturday August 15th, 2026 from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
Scott will be missed greatly by those who knew him.
