

CHAPIN –It is with great sadness that the family of Robert “Bobby” Earl Wessinger, Sr. announces his passing on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the age of 72 years.
Bobby served with the Columbia Fire Department where he retired as a Battalion Chief after 30 years of service. Bobby was a lifetime member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge # 281 of Little Mountain. Bobby was an active member of the Jamil Shrine Temple where he was part of the Jamil Choo Choo’s. Bobby loved playing his guitar, fishing, being with family, friends, and his constant companion, his dog Whiskey Earl. He will be greatly missed by all.
Bobby will be lovingly remembered by his three children, Robert “Robby” E. Wessinger (Missie), Holly Wessinger, and Alyson (Joedy) Moots. Bobby will also be fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Robert “Bob” E., III, and Victoria Wessinger, Brett Burkett, Jessica Wessinger, Tyler and Connor Bokor. Bobby was predeceased by his father and mother, Jacob Earl and Mary Ester Wessinger; his brother, Howard Wessinger and sister, Freeda Huffstetler.
Funeral service in memory of Bobby will be held on Wednesday, October 28 at 3 p.m., at the Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church, 101 E. Boundary St., Chapin with Rev. Ralph G. Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Mt. Horeb Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Bobby to the Shriners Childrens’ Hospital.
