Born in Akron, Ohio, on October 29, 1947, Sue was the daughter of the late Jack and Lucille Ferrell. Growing up she enjoyed her youth as a majorette for the Akron Nites and is remembered fondly by classmates from Ellet High School.
Sue was a former employee of Ellett Brothers (in Chapin, SC) and spent the majority of her career in sales, everything from professional sales to auctions. Sue enjoyed spending time with her family and especially spoiling her grandchildren. In her free time, Sue loved crocheting, reading, and playing cards and bingo with her friends.
Sue is survived by her son, Shawn (Cindy) Vodila, and daughter, Brandy Shultz (Allan) Martin; granddaughters, Nicole Vodila, Holly Thompson, and Delaney Martin; great-grandsons, Atticus Thompson and Aiden Vodila; brothers, Jack (Judy) Ferrell and Thom Ferrell; nephews, Jack Ferrell and Jeff Ferrell, and nieces, Sandy Stafford and Shellie Herring. Sue was predeceased by her parents.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for memorials to be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital or Little Mountain Fire Department, 219 N. Boundary St., Little Mountain, SC 29075.
