Timothy Paul Baker, 65, of Irmo, SC went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 21, 2025 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Born on March 23, 1960 in Fairbanks, Alaska, he grew up in Pasadena, Texas with his mother, father, and 8 siblings.
He graduated from South Houston High School and moved to South Carolina where he went to Midlands Technical College and met and then married the love of his life, Patricia Baker; they were married for 35 years and have four children.
He worked in construction as a subcontractor and attended Gateway Baptist Church where he shared his love of Jesus with his family and friends. He always took his family on yearly beach trips, where he would teach his children how to fish and the best way to crack open a crab leg. He also loved to cook for his family and created many original recipes that will be passed down for generations. He passed down his yearly (and frustratingly unlikely) wish for snow in South Carolina at Christmastime every year to his children as well.
His children also called him “dude” almost as much as “dad”. His hobbies were many, including fishing, cooking, watching scary movies, playing board games, and hunting for Pokémon on Pokémon GO; but his greatest love was raising his children up in Jesus with his wife and playing with his grandson, Dean.
He leaves behind his wife Patricia Baker; his children Erin Baker, Christian Baker, Megan Mullin (Christopher), and Lindsay Baker, as well as his grandson Dean Mullin; his sisters Jeannie Donahue (Chuck), Barbara Whitted (Steve), Mary Baker (Mike), and Cathy McCombs (David); his brothers Richard Baker (Kathy) and Thomas Baker (Irma); and his many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Cyril E. and Patricia A. Baker, his brother Michael Baker, and his sister Joann Green (Freddie).
Visitation will occur at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home in Chapin, SC on July 29, 2025 from 7-8 P.M., with the funeral being held on July 30, 2025 at Gateway Baptist Church in Irmo, SC at 10 A.M. in the chapel; interment will be at Southland Memorial Gardens in West Columbia, SC.
