She is survived by her beloved son, Bryan K. Evans, as well as her daughter-in-law, Lisa B. Evans; granddaughter, Catherine Virginia Evans, and grandson, Andrew Bryan Evans, all of Chapin, South Carolina.
Raised in Washington, D.C., she and her family also lived in Laurel, Maryland where Vicky graduated from Northwestern High School. She later moved to Charlottesville, Virginia where she worked for twenty-five years as a telephone operator with Southern Bell, Centel, and BellSouth Corporation. She finished her career at Sprint Telecommunications, retiring in sales. A devoted Wahoo, Terp, and Orioles fan and all-around sports lover, Vicky cheered and hollered through many games, many seasons.
Vicky enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved taking trips to the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Parkway. Vicky enjoyed listening to music and dancing at C-ville's Friday after Five with her friends and longtime companion, Larry Herring. She lived life with an amazing sense of humor and light-heartedness. She was friendly to everyone she met and particularly had a love for animals, especially her many beloved cats. She was devoted to her church and family. Always at every event, every milestone, with such pride. It was her love for life and a deep faith that allowed her to make so many lifelong friends and heartfelt memories.
Vicky is also survived by her brother, William “Bill” Hoffman, Jr. and his wife, Trudy Hoffman of Scottsville, Virginia. She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Larry Herring of Charlottesville, Virginia.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 3:00 pm, with visitation at 2:00 pm prior to the service at Chapin Christian Community Church, 415 Lexington Ave, Chapin, South Carolina. A private burial will take place in Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Bluefield, West Virginia.
