Wallace Hubbard, 89, of Chapin, SC peacefully passed into eternity with his Lord and Savior on 9/17/26. He was surrounded by his family in the comforts of his own home.
Wallace was born the second son to Johnny and Edith W. Hubbard in Hardeeville, SC. He spent his childhood making memories with his brothers John and Bert. Coming up in age he enjoyed serving the community on his paper delivery route and working as a soda jerk at the local drugstore. He was a graduate of Hardeeville High School Class of 1955 and continued his higher education at Clemson Agricultural and Mechanical College before enlisting in the United States Air Force.
He married his beloved wife of 69 years, Barbara V. on April 20, 1957. Together they had two children Tony (Janine) and Kelli “Red” (Rick), four grandchildren Barbie (Josh), Anthony (Hannah), Meagan, and Daniel (Nicki), and nine great-grandchildren Hailey, Chelsey, Peyton, Kyleigh, Chance, Noah, Cooper, Savannah, and Benson-Deacon.
Wallace spent the majority of his life owning and operating a family construction business and later in life he worked for Lexington School District 5 school system as the Head of Construction and Maintenance. Throughout his life he prided himself in the gift God gave him to hunt and play golf but always remained humble that he missed the talent of fishing.
Most importantly he loved and led his family toward Jesus each and every day of his life. He spent years discipling others but had the greatest pleasure knowing both of his children, all of his grandchildren, and some of his great-grandchildren came to know the Lord before his passing. While his family grieves they have not lost hope in their loss they know their hope is only found in Jesus Christ and that he is home with his Savior.
The family would like to extend thanks to his care team at 3 Oaks Hospice, their local church of Chapin Baptist, Caughman and Harmon Funeral Home, and Fort Jackson National Cemetery for their assistance during this time.
There will be a visitation Sunday, October 25th from 3 - 5 PM. The family will gather for a private graveside service.
