CHAPIN – Funeral services for Walter Edward Lindler, 79, of Chapin will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at St. Jacobs Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Jacobs Lutheran Church Current Fund, 844 Columbia Ave., Chapin, SC 29036.
Mr. Lindler was born December 18, 1937 in Chapin, SC and passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017. He was the son of the late Walter M. Lindler and Lula Slice Lindler. He was a member of St. Jacobs Lutheran Church. Walter served our country in the US Army. He was a former employee of Columbia Housing Authority and loved fishing, deer hunting and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Ann F. Lindler of Chapin; son, Russell E. Lindler (Laura); grandchildren, Laurie, Samantha, Kailyn and Olivia; brothers, J.L. Lindler (Janet), Bryan Lindler (Mattie Jane) and sister, Elizabeth Summer (Willie). He was preceded in death by two infant twin brothers and parents.
