Grace Virginia Cavender

Mrs. Grace Virginia Cavender, 85, of Dunbar, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 at home. She was born in Dille, WV on Dec. 17, 1930, a daughter of the late Levi and Dessie Lawson Martin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester Cavender and her daughter-in-law, Tammy Cavender. She was formerly employed at the C&P Telephone Company. She is survived by her two sons, Gary Cavender of Dunbar and Michael (Nancy) Cavender of Hebron, CT; three sisters, Loretta Keener of California, and Phyllis Graham and Maxine Ellison both of Ohio; and a brother, Joe Martin of North Carolina; three granddaughters, Ashley Cavender of Charleston, and Hillary and Aimee Cavender of Hebron, CT; and a grandson, Nicholas (Amanda) Cavender of Fairmont. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan 4, at 11:00 am at Bartlett Burdette Cox Funeral Home. H.R. Whittington will serve as Funeral Celebrant. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6-8 pm.
