The legacy of Augusta Mae Rainer-Shores born on March 28, 1937 in Dell, Arkansas to the parents of John Henry Rainer (father) and Pearl Lillian Rainer (mother) was captured in her free-spirited love of life. She transitioned from this earthly life on July 15, 2019 at the age of 82.
Augusta is preceded in death by her immediate family members; Augusta Sullivan (Grandmother), John Henry Rainer (Father), Pearl Sullivan Rainer (Mother); Sisters Margaret Rowe and Mildred Hughes; Brothers Carl Henry Rainer and Calvin Edward Rainer.
Augusta leaves to continue her celebration of life one daughter Sharon Annette McDuffie and James Leslie McDuffie a son in law whom she loved as her own. One brother Lee Edward Rainer & wife Lydia of Lorton Virginia, and one sister Mable Edwards of Malden, Missouri. Four grandchildren Kimberly McDuffie, Christina McDuffie, Micah McDuffie and Vittorio (Tori) McDuffie. Four great grandchildren Trinity Zaire McDuffie, Zion Omarie McDuffie, Zoe’Leigh Andreas McDuffie and Milah Mikelle McDuffie all of Charlotte, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
As the “Pillar & Monarch” of the family legacy was passed on to her by her maternal grandmother Augusta Sullivan Hickey and her mother Pearl Sullivan Rainier to cherish the gift of life it’s a God given privilege. Show God your gratitude by the way you treat others and love your family by instilling unity and appreciation for one another. As the “Pillar” of the family and her community she has demonstrated a level of love and compassion that will have a lasting effect on all that encountered her big heart, warm hugs and a seat at the dinner table.
Traveling abroad was her topic of the day Paris, Italy, the European countryside of Germany and around the world was one of her prize memoirs. A Ray of Hope Ministry in Germany under the Pastoral leadership of Elder Perry & Evangelist Angelene Hill is where she was born again in March 2000 and served with her whole heart and where she says, “I got my business straight”!
Moving back to the United States and becoming a family member of World Worship Church was the highlight of her remaining years on earth. She served as the church mother of The Prayer Chapel Ministry and the CEO of her own company called “Designed by Nature” researching and designing organic teas for health-related issues that senior citizens face was her secret passion. Her nurturing nature led her to a career path in Childcare Development for over 30 plus years before retirement.
