

Aaron Lewis Wilson, Jr., formerly of Fort Mill, SC, passed away on September 10, 2015, after a long illness at Hospice Haven in Rockingham, NC. He was the son of the late Aaron Lewis Wilson, Sr. and Judy Reynolds Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marie Zowkey, who lived in New York and Greensboro, NC; wife, Pat Wilson; brother, Bill Wilson; nephew, Seth Wilson; and sister-in-law, Martha Wilson.
He is survived by his nephew, Gene Stewart, his caregiver of 10 years; nephew, Van Wilson, Winston Salem, NC; niece, Mrs. Wendy Wilson, Greensboro, NC; niece, Judy (Bob) Johnson, Silver Springs, MD; Pam and Dan Somerville, Baltimore, MD; and Ronnie (Carolyn) Ledford, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fort Mill, SC. He is also survived by his dog, Sue, and bird, Jesse.
He was a World War II veteran who graduated from Roberdell and Rockingham High School. He went to art school in New York where he lived with his sister. He worked his entire life in the art department at the Charlotte Observer.
He also volunteered at the Hamlet Hospital and Richmond Memorial Hospital. He delivered Meals on Wheels where he enjoyed talking with people.
His family will greet friends on Monday, September 14, 2015, from 10-11 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, 904 Fayetteville Road, in Rockingham, NC, followed by his funeral service at 11 a.m. The Reverend Dwight Williams will officiate. Graveside services with military honors will follow at 3 p.m. at the Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 5201 Sharon Road, in Charlotte.
