Ms. Forbis, of Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011.
She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina the daughter of the late William Allen Simerson and Celia Marie Simerson.
Ailene was a devoted and loving mother to many and her compassion for others was her legacy.
Surviving are her children, Lisa Forbis and husband Robert Kegeris, Jennifer MacLaren, Matthew Forbis and wife Lizz Forbis, Richard Forbis, Rodney Forbis, Christina Forbis, and Evette Cintron; grandchildren, Alec, Hannah, Adam, and Sean Forbis, and Abra and Zoe Sellick; sisters, Athlene Wallace and Billie “Pat” Thomas, and numerous other loving family members.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, June 24, 2011 at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
A graveside service will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Evergreen City Cemetery, 4426 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC.
