Aili Anita Lehtela

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Aili Lehtela, who passed away September 1, 2026 at the age of 89. She was a beacon of light, warmth, and strength in the lives of all who knew her, and she will be deeply and greatly missed.

Making it to 89 was no small feat, but she did so through her extraordinary sisu—that quiet, indomitable grit and relentless perseverance. Whether navigating life’s quiet challenges or enduring profound loss, her stoic determination and inner fortitude saw her through every season with grace and purpose.

​While her presence will be profoundly missed here on Earth, our hearts find comfort in knowing that after more than 20 years apart, she is finally getting the chance to be reunited with her loving husband. Their enduring bond remains an inspiration to us all, and there is peace in knowing they are together once again.

​Her legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family lives on through those she cherished most. She is survived by her 3 children, Pia, Ari, Juha, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her spirit, her gentle wisdom, and the beautiful memories she created with them throughout her long, full life.
