Alan passed away peacefully on December 2, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and wonderful friends.

Alan Lewis Alado was born September, 1965 to June and Antonio Alado in Manchester, England. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Mary Mlodzik Alado and proud father to Nicole (“Nikki”) Alado and Patrick Alado. He was also the much loved brother to Lisa Alado (Gregory Ettl) of Seattle, WA, Pamela (Stan) Dolata of Waukesha, WI, Jennifer (David) Mlachnik of Waterford WI, and Kathleen (John) Gill of Mequon, WI. Alan was also the dear uncle to Olivia, Kathryn, Haley, Julia, Samantha, Marian, David, Kurt, Sierra, Dylan, and Steve, and great uncle to Brody.

Alan grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, attended Immaculate Conception grade school, and was a graduate of Milwaukee Trade & Technical High School. It was in Milwaukee that he met the love of his life, Mary. At an early age, he and Mary professed their faith in Jesus Christ and joined Parkway Apostolic Church where they were dedicated members. Alan taught bible studies, worked with youth ministry, ran adult cell groups, and taught Sunday school.

A Journeyman Machinist at Siemens Energy since 1992, Alan transferred to Charlotte, NC in November 1999. As an active member of First Church of Charlotte, Alan was known to all as a builder of community. Between his church, neighborhood, co-workers, golf friends, and other acquaintances, Alan developed a strong network of family in his new hometown.

Alan “AA” will forever be remembered as a joyful soul who was always positive and had a smile on his face. He made friends wherever he went and was the first to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. He was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important — the simplicity of living a life with those you love. It was time with family and friends (preferably on a boat or golf course) that brought him the greatest joy.

Please join us in celebrating his life Saturday, December 8th, with receiving at 11am, followed by a service at 1pm at First Church Charlotte, 4929 N Sharon Amity Road, Charlotte, NC 28205. Burial will be immediately afterwards at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery, 5716 Sharon Amity Rd., Charlotte, NC .

Condolences may be offered at www.mcewenpinevillechapel.com.

Alan Alado phrases:
“Yeah, yeah!”
“Have you seen my Mary? I am the luckiest guy in the world! That girl is in love!”
“I am so proud of that girl” (when talking about Nikki)
“That boy, he makes me proud” (when talking about Patrick)
“Momma keeps me straight!” (talking about Mary keeping him in line)
Over the 19 years of knowing him, he has made similar comments about his each of his family members---and yes, there were stories that went with them! Family has always been a core component of what made Al tick! I remember seeing him and Mary at a Siemens family day event and they were so excited because they were going to be parents--- to Nikki and Patrick. Such joy, love, and anticipation in their eyes for the future and their family. I pray for you Mary; he was devoted to you in life and in passing he will watch over and wait for you. Nikki and Patrick; remember he loved you so so very much, and to follow his example of love and patience as you face the trials and tribulations of life.

Never was there a time that I saw Al that he never failed to make me feel like Carl was lucky to have me; and that he was glad to have, not only Carl, but me as his friend. That smile of his and the goofy look he would get when he was telling a story about golf or boating {which was most of the time}; or asking for advice on how to deal with teenagers, will be greatly missed. Al was a great human being, and the world was better with him in it! Carl and I are grateful to have had the privilege to be called his friends and will miss him greatly.

If there is anything we have learned from the passing of our great friend, it is that time is truly precious. You left this world far too early. You had so much to give; and at the age of 53 years old, you gave the world everything you had. But even then, we know there was so much more you had to give. We will miss your contagious laugh, your loving smile, and a quirkiness that could never be replaced. So many of us feel an incredible loss and you will forever be in our hearts. RIP ~ We love you!

Alan has always been a smile you can rely on. I true man of God that threw himself into anything Christ centered. His passion and heart for God was authentically contagious (his laugh too). He always led with relationship first and inspired all of us. I’m thankful to know him and work alongside him in youth ministry. Thank you Mary and Alan for the service of your lives as exemplary lights.
