Born February 15, 1951, he was the son of the late Albert E. Lauson Sr. and the late Marie Remi Lauson of Ogdensburg, NY. Following graduation in 1969 from St Mary’s Academy in Ogdensburg, he furthered his education at Jefferson Community College in Watertown NY and completed his master’s degree at Potsdam State University in Potsdam, NY with a degree in teaching Social Studies. He was employed by Ogdensburg Free Academy until his retirement in 2013.
Al was a lifelong member of the Elks Club in Ogdensburg NY. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying deer hunting in winter and fishing on the St. Lawrence River in the summer.
He belonged to All Saints Catholic Church in Lake Wylie SC since 2013 and Notre Dame Catholic Church in Ogdensburg NY prior to 2013.
Al is survived by his wife of 22 years, KeithaLee Lauson of Clover SC, stepson Andrew Streeter, and grandchildren Andrew and Emily Streeter of Heuvelton, NY. Also surviving Al are sisters, Diana Lauson Swanson (Jeffrey Swanson), Cindy Lauson (Melinda Mang), and Martha Lauson Jenner, and brothers Marc Lauson (Shelli Waluk), and David Lauson. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Lauson LaFlam.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11am, Monday, April 26, 2021 at All Saints Church in Lake Wylie SC and again in July in his home town of Ogdensburg, NY. For those wishing to send memorial gifts, please consider The Elks Lodge Scholarship Fund, Caroline St. Ogdensburg, NY 13669.
