Al Moretti was born in the Bronx, NY, and lived in New York until he retired to Florida. He met his loving wife Eleanor after he graduated from high school. They raised their two children on Long Island.
Al was very active in Little League as a coach and was involved with the Boy Scouts. Al always loved baseball, where he pitched on a semi-pro team. He also loved to play pool. While growing up he could often be found in the local pool hall. Al loved to garden and always had plenty of tomatoes to share with neighbors. While in Florida, he had orange and lemon trees. Enjoying a good meal with a good glass of wine was something he always looked forward to sharing with Eleanor and his family and friends.
Al was a very successful sales engineer and before retiring, ran his own company called Eastern Stream and Specialty Company.
In his later years, Al and Eleanor moved to Sunrise on Providence in Charlotte, where they were loved and cared for by the devoted staff.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Eleanor, and his two children, Donna and Ralph. He has four grandchildren: Brian, Ashley, Allison and Lisa, and four great-grandchildren, Tinnin, Nora, Lucas and Rhys.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Harry and Bryant Funeral Home. A visitation and light reception will be held after the service.
