Alice Jones Coble

Alice Jones Coble, age 78, of Indian Land, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born October 22, 1947, in Athens, Georgia, Alice was the daughter of the late Farris and Katherine Jones. She lived a life marked by hard work, deep faith, devotion to her family, and kindness to all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her siblings, Harold Jones, Virginia Byron, and Lorene Christian, and her beloved great-granddaughter, Bailey Cruse.

Alice is survived by her husband of many years, William Coble; her children, Kay (Ray) Bailey, Lynn Black, Kevin (Mollie) Hicks, Billy Coble, and Kelly Coble. She was a proud and loving Nana to her grandchildren, Erin (Brad) Cruse, Morgan Guest, Ross Coble, Rachel (JR) Clay, Ansley Hicks, Harrison (Lexsie) Black, and Ellis Hicks. She was also a treasured great-grandmother to Malachi Guest and Hudson Gillikin and eagerly anticipated the arrival of two more great-grandchildren due in March. In addition to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she is survived by her sister, Reba Christian.

Alice was known for her strong work ethic and spent much of her career in the grocery industry, where she enjoyed serving customers and building lasting friendships. She also possessed a talent for woodworking, creating pieces that reflected her creativity and craftsmanship. Even in retirement, she remained active in the lives of her family and friends.

A longtime member of Steele Creek Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, Alice's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found strength in her relationship with the Lord and treasured the fellowship and friendships she shared with her church family.

Alice will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering dedication to her family, and the quiet strength that carried her through life's challenges. Whether offering encouragement, sharing wisdom, or simply spending time with those she loved, she made everyone feel welcomed and cherished. Her warmth, generosity, and caring spirit touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Steele Creek Church Trinity Chapel. Funeral services will follow, with a graveside service at 1:30 p.m.
