Alice Marie Fitts Etters

Mrs. Etters, age 83, of Matthews, died Sunday, May 22, 2016. Born January 15, 1933 in Charlotte, she was a daughter of the late Walter Byrd and Adavelle Burke Byrd. She graduated from Central High School and then went to work as a teller at Bank of Commerce. Later in life she was employed with Delmar Studio and State Employees Credit Union. Mrs. Etters was a member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 28th at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Survivors include three children, Denise Fitts Autry (Doug), Gregory L. Fitts and Lonnie L. Fitts; three grandchildren, Katherine L. Fitts, Chadley N. Fitts and Lacie M. Autry; a great granddaughter, Leah M. Fitts; and a brother, William Byrd (Patsy) of Taxahaw, SC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Etters was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward L. Fitts; former husband, Loyd Etters; and a sister, Betty Jo McCorkle.
