Alice, a life long Charlottean, is the youngest of two children born to Herbert Evans Siskron Sr. and Edna Eloise Abernathy Siskron on January 5, 1949. After graduating from Myers Park High School in 1967, Alice attended Limestone College before marrying Walter C Hilderman III and starting a family.
Alice had a kind and helpful demeanor. She was quick to greet and complement friends and strangers alike. Alice will be remembered as a loving daughter, doting sister, devoted mother and loving grandmother.
Through the years, outside of work and raising her two children, Alice enjoyed many hobbies. She loved crafting - decoupage and macramé in the 1970s, creating seashell home decor in the 80’s, making dried and silk floral arrangements in the 90’s. Like her father, Alice had a love of gardening. Her yard and patio were always dripping with seasonal hanging baskets and planters, intermixed with her cherished angel and cherub statues. From her mother, she acquired a love and appreciation of a wide variety of music, from classical and organ music to 60’s/70’s/80’s pop - passing the joy of music onto her own children. She also passed on her love of movies-quoting movie lines was, and is, a favorite and frequent occurrence in the family.
In addition to her loving parents, Alice was preceded in death by her beloved older brother, Herbert E. Siskron Jr. of Charlotte, NC and her former husband, Walter C. Hilderman,III.
She is survived by her two children: Christine H Carper (and husband, Michael) of Cornelius, NC and Walter C Hilderman IV (and wife, Katherine) of St.Louis, MO; her cherished grandchildren: John Carper of Charlotte NC, Rachel Carper of Beaufort SC, Georgie Johnson (and husband, Seth) of Spencer, WI, Melody Hilderman of Milwaukee, WI; Oliver Halloran (and wife, Maddy), Bailey Osburn and Kehgan Osburn of St.Louis, MO and her sister-in-law, Kathy Siskron of Charlotte NC.
