

She was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on September 19, 1928 to Eunice McCoy Wylie and William Brown Wylie. Allie graduated from Pineville High School Class of 1945 and attended Brevard College.
She retired after 33 years of service from Southern Bell, now AT & T. In 1982, she was elected president of the Southern Bell Cardinal Council. Allie loved to entertain her telephone friends, relatives and neighbors. In 1975, with her telephone friends, started to travel completing 21 trips around the world. She enjoyed meeting many new friends and staying in touch with a special family in Australia. They visited her home on several trips to North Carolina.
Allie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bruce. She is survived by Debbie, Sammy and Carla - distant cousins and her friend of over sixty-seven years, Freda Law, her telephone family of friends, her church family and many very close friends. She was a member of Pineville United Methodist Church since 1946.
Allie was a special, feisty, and a witty lady who was loved by many and will be missed very much.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM with a Visitation beginning at 10:00 AM at Pineville United Methodist Church, 110 S Polk St, Pineville, NC 28134. Burial will be at Flint Hill Baptist Church, 269 Flint Hill Rd, Fort Mill, SC 29715 following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pineville United Methodist Church, 110 S. Polk St., Pineville, NC 28134; or VIA Hospice of Charlotte, https://viahp.org. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Pineville Rehab & Living Center and Wickshire Steele Creek in Charlotte, NC for their loving care of Allie.
