

She was born the 9th child in the Bethany Community of Clover, South Carolina to George Palmon Dixon and Emma Bell Davidson Dixon.
Amanda graduated from Bethany High School in Clover, SC, she attended Columbia Commercial College in Columbia, SC and Kings Business School in Charlotte, NC. She retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company in the Special Services Department after 37 years. She worked part-time, at the Tall Shop, she was a Licensed Real Estate Broker with Miller Real Estate and Insurance Agency. Amanda was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a life member of CWA, and a Charter Member of the CWA Retiree Club.
She was a former member of Prichard Memorial Baptist Church and former member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was currently a member of Garden Memorial Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Amanda also served as a board member for the West Mecklenburg Voluntary Fire Department. She loved to travel, to attend club meetings and work in her yard.
Amanda is survived by her brother, Glenn Dixon of Morganton, NC; her step-daughter, Tommie Icard; step-grandson, Ryan Icard both of Gainesville, GA; step-grandson, Matthew Icard (Angie) and step-great granddaughter, Brookanna Icard of Woodstock, GA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene F. Tucker; by her 5 brothers: Hood, Clarence, Frank, Mark and Joe Dixon and 2 sisters: Mildred Dixon Hood and Effie Dixon Sipe and by a special friend, John H. Calhoun, Sr.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday, the 12th of May, 2026 in the Chapel of McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM in the Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
