

Amos is survived by his wife of 56 years Bonnie Abram Robertson, his daughter Ambrosia Nalls and her husband Greg of Charlotte and two grandchildren – Sarah and Steven of Charlotte along with his three sisters – Shirley (James) Taylor of Virginia, Jeanne (Jimmy) Keiegel of Virginia and Rose Flewelling of Oregon and his brother David (Elenore) of Virginia in additional numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Robertson and father Percy Robertson, his brother Jesse Robertson and his three sisters Frances Lanham, Lorraine Jones and Ruth Smith.
Amos was born on March 24, 1932 in Springfield, VA. He retired from the Fairfax County Water Authority in 1987 after serving for 25 years. He served in the Korean War aboard the USS New Jersey. He proudly served a total of eleven years in the US Navy.
Amos was a loving father and husband. He loved his grandchildren dearly. He enjoyed traveling and taking his grandchildren with them. He will be remembered for always telling his daughter and grandchildren to “look up and smile”.
The family will greet friends on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 6-9pm at McEwen Funeral Service located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte. An 11am funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Matthews Church of God located at 517 East John Street in Matthews where all are welcome. Reverend Kenneth Abram will officiate.
Interment will be at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury NC with military honors at a later date.
Flowers may be delivered to McEwen Funeral Service at5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte. Donations to Bonnie Robertson may be sent to the funeral home.
