
Mrs. Alexander was born on September 26, 1926 in Thomasville, NC, the only daughter of the late Charles Mann Gaskill and Nell Slack Gaskill. She was raised in Greensboro, NC, graduated from Grimsley High School, then spent her young adult years in Greensboro and Wrightsville Beach, NC.
Mrs. Alexander worked at Southern Bell Telephone Company in Greensboro until her 1955 marriage to Frank S. Alexander, Sr., after which the couple relocated to Charlotte. Thereafter, she was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She volunteered her time at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, the American Red Cross, and in Charlotte’s public schools. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
In her final years Mrs. Alexander was a resident at Sharon Towers in Charlotte, and her family wishes to express its deepest appreciation for the care and kindness shown by the Sharon Towers staff.
Mrs. Alexander is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank S. Alexander, Jr. and Mitzi M. Alexander, and grandchildren, Thomas M. Alexander, Victoria A. Alexander and Matthew G. Alexander, all of Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, the late Frank S. Alexander, Sr.
Funeral services and burial will be private for the family.
