Ann Z Anderson

Born in Charlotte on January 5, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Otto Frank Zagora and Julia Aileen Proctor Zagora. Ann was a graduate of Myers Park High School and later graduated from UNC-Greensboro. She moved to Arizona in the early 70’s and returned in 1989 with her husband, John Wayne Anderson, to help care for her parents.

While in Arizona, Ann did administrative work for Arizona State. When she returned to Charlotte she continued her career working in a medical practice. Ann was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church and was very active in the Music Ministry participating in two choirs and volunteering in the music office, as well as being active in many other phases of the church.

Ann is survived by her cousins, Edwin M. Zagora (Dianne) of Charlotte, Lynn Zagora Bender (Joel) of Brooklyn, MI, Douglas A. Clark and Julie Clark Garvy both of Atlanta, John L. Clark (Joan) of Melbourne, FL and Marsha Zagora Meredith of Myrtle Beach, SC; as well as two step-sons, Sean Anderson (Alicia) of Centerville, MA and Tim Anderson of Arizona.

Her husband, John W. Anderson, preceded her in death in 2004.

A service to celebrate Ann’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 31st at First Baptist Church of Charlotte. Her family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
