Anna Marie Getz, 73, peacefully passed away on November 6th in Charlotte, NC.

Anna is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert; her sisters Carmella, Mary, and Patricia & brother Thomas; and her children Joseph and Donald and his husband Ryan.

Anna was born on October 13, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA, to Joseph J. Russo Jr and Asunta (Susie) DiPaola Russo.

She graduated West Catholic High School in 1964. She received an academic scholarship in 1966 to St. Agnes School of Nursing in Philadelphia. PA.

Anna met her husband, Bob, while working as a telephone directory operator. The NAVY employed Bob, so they married and embarked on their first adventure to Rhode Island, finally calling Norfolk, VA home. She excelled at several trades including tailor of naval uniforms, secretary, and bookkeeper. She ultimately created her own business as medical transcriptionist for which she was particularly proud. She found great satisfaction in helping others within the community as an active member of many service organizations, mainly the Boys Club and Lions Club.

A funeral mass is scheduled for Anna on November 14th 2020 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption located at 4207 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215 followed by graveside service at Sharon Memorial Park located at 5716 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212.

The parishioners and staff at St. Stephen's extend our heartfelt prayers and sympathy to Anna's family.

Anna was a long-time member of St. Stephen's, choir member, and always ready to help out with special projects. Her delicious breads were always a hit at church potluck dinners.

We pray to the Lord for Anna's eternal rest, and may light perpetual shine upon her.
