Ann Kinkead Hutton, 96, left her earthly body and was welcomed home to rest at the feet of Jesus on July 1, 2024. Ann, affectionately known as “Momaw” by her grandchildren, was born on January 18, 1928, in Bristol, Tennessee to William Carlyle Kinkead and Maude Foust Kinkead. Ann was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Ann was blessed with a long-fulfilled life full of adventure. Ann loved traveling out west with her husband, Malcolm, on hunting trips. Their month-long road trips took them throughout the midwestern and northern states and back home through the southern states. Ann spoke vividly of the beautiful scenery she and Malcolm encountered along their journeys. Ann also enjoyed road trips to Cherokee with her daughter-in-law, Libby, and traveling to Hawaii, California, and Las Vegas with her sister-in-law, Mary. Ann loved attending concerts and was a big Vince Gill fan. Ann enjoyed reading and watching The Price Is Right and Wheel of Fortune.
Ann was also blessed to live long enough to see her great grandchildren grow into adulthood and to meet and bond a loving relationship with her two great-great granddaughters. Ann was very much loved by her family and will forever be missed. It brings the family comfort to know that Ann is happy, healthy, and whole again in the presence of our Heavenly Father.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, William Kinkead and Maude Kinkead; husband, Malcolm Hutton; brother, Earl Hall; sister, Billie Dye; and grandson, Robert “Bobby” Seymour, Jr.
Ann is survived by her son, Robert Seymour, Sr, and daughter-in-law, Libby Austin Seymour of Charlotte; granddaughter, Kimberli Seymour Case (Michael) of Charlotte, great-grandson, Josh Case (Susan) of Indian Trail, great-granddaughter, Ashley Case Hedrick (Bryce) of Weaverville; great-granddaughter, Brittany Seymour of Stanley; great-grandson, Hunter Seymour of Mt Holly, and two great-great granddaughters, Avery and Leah Case of Indian Trail. She is also survived by a brother, Alan Kinkead (Linda) of Kingsport, TN; a niece, Sherry Arthur of Johnson City, TN; and numerous cousins, great-nieces, and great-great nieces and nephews, all of Tennessee.
A private graveside gathering was held on July 11, 2024, as Ann was laid to rest.
The family would like to thank Derek and Shelly from Forest Lawn West Funeral Home and Cemetery for serving the family with compassion.
