Mrs. Blackburn was born on November 6, 1919, in Wilmington, NC.
She is survived by one daughter, Gwendolyn Silva of Eliot, Maine, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear friends, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Mills.
Mrs. Blackburn was a member of the Sharon Presbyterian Church in Charlotte and was formerly employed with the ABC Commission of North Carolina.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Sharon Presbyterian Church, 5201 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC.
