Mr. Aoum Douangmala was born March 1st, 1932 in Pakse, Laos to Mr. Phomma & Mrs. Mott Douangmala. He was schooled in a Buddhist Monasteries in Laos for 20 years. In 1960 he married Ms. Thongmy Jongjreau, and they had 10 children together.
After the overthrow of the Lao government he and his family escaped to the United States in 1981, where they first settled in Minneapolis, St. Paul for 15 years. He then moved to Charlotte, NC and then later moved to Aurora, Illinois. After moving around to visit all his children, he later passed away in Belmont, NC on Sunday, March 31st, 2025 at 1:37am.
Mr. Aoum was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Souksakhone.
He is survived by his wife, Thongmy; his sons, Somphone, Oudone, Sounthone, Phouthone, Viengsone, Vilayvane and Jonson; also his daughters, Khammone and Khonsavane.
