Arkon Gray Stewart III

October 28, 1998October 9, 2020

Arkon Gray Stewart III, 21, passed away Friday, October 9, 2020.

Born October 28, 1998 in Forsyth County, he was the son of Arkon Gray Stewart Jr. and Sidney Stewart. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Morgan Stewart; his grandfathers, Arkon Gray Stewart Sr. of Winston Salem and Otis Falls of Kings Mountain; and his birth mother, Amber Leigh (Dukes).

Gray attended Fort Mill Elementary School, Fort Mill Middle School and Banks Trail Middle School and was then home schooled until he graduated high school. He attended York Tech and completed his automotive classes. Gray (Arkon) was employed at Advance Auto in Tega Cay.

Gray enjoyed bike riding, camping, hiking, target shooting, skeet shooting, and eating. He also enjoyed online and other video games and spending time with friends and family and especially appreciated a trip to New Orleans when he graduated high school.

Known to his family as Gray, Arkon to some, and Stewy to others, he was quirky, happy, funny with a great sense of humor, generous, and a joyous addition to his family. He also loved the Lord Jesus Christ and tried to live a life that would please the Lord.

A service to celebrate Gray's life will be held at Central Church, 5301 Sardis Road, Charlotte, NC 28270 at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17th. Covid protocols will be observed throughout the service with masks being required.

I just recently started working with Arkin, I could never get his name right. This kid was a special person. He was honest, genuine, and kind. He helped me find parts when I couldn't.
He had an old, kind, soul. I really liked him. He will be missed but not forgotten. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Arkon Gray Stewart was my best childhood friend, going from 2nd grade to graduating college. Growing up in elementary school, we used to hang out with each other all the time, whether it was riding bikes, playing video games, or watching TV shows (Three of our favorites back in the day being Total Drama, Spongebob, and Chowder). Growing up in middle school, we still played video games together, but we were really getting into anime, such as Dragon Ball. And once we got into high school and college, we started going to ministry together, serving Jesus with all our hearts.

I will forever cherish Arkon in my heart and it pains me to this day that he has passed away. I pray for his family the most. I don't know what it is like losing a child, but I believe God understands perfectly and The Lord will show nothing but His Divine Love to the Stewart family. Rest in Peace, Arkon. I love you, man.

We remember the day you brought lil Gray home. How excited we all were to meet him. What a great big sister Morgan was going to be. His first Halloween costume was a pea pod. It was just precious. He completed your family! We will keep all of you in our prayers for you to sense Gods comfort and peace around you.

Years and years ago my dad and I went shooting skeet with Gray and Mr. Stewart. I remember being excited to go shooting with my dad, but not so keen on the idea of having to share the spotlight with some boy I had never met. As the day progressed, I found myself getting along well with Gray, and enjoying myself profusely not only because of the sport, but because of the newfound friendship. Know that your son, or whoever Gray was to you, touched more people in his life than you will ever know, and will be missed and remembered by more than you can count. My prayers are with you all.
