

Arthur (Art) Thomas Castillo of Charlotte, NC and formerly of Vero Beach, FL and Summit, NJ passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025. Art was born on August 25, 1930 to Alma and Arthur Castillo in Verona, NJ where he was raised with his younger sister Carol Sue. Art attended Verona High school where he played on the basketball and football teams and then the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he met his wife, Jeanne Thomson. Art was a member of the DKE (Deke) fraternity.
Art and Jeanne were married on February 20, 1954. He spent most of his married life living in Summit, NJ and working in NYC. Art had an illustrious career in advertising and marketing at companies including Ted Bates, Colgate Palmolive, Revlon, Gulf & Western, Marketing Development Corp. International, Parfums Rochas, Foster Grant Corporation, Goldmark Partners and Scafa-Tornabene Art Publishing Co., Inc.
In April of 1965, Art was transferred to London. Art, Jeanne and their three children (Joy, Amy and A.T.) moved to London for three years where they traveled frequently throughout Europe. In both Europe and stateside when Art and Jeanne made friends they would be life-long friendships.
Art was a long-time member of Morris County Golf Club in Convent Station, NJ where he enjoyed playing golf, tennis, paddle tennis and socializing with friends.
Art and Jeanne moved to Vero Beach permanently in 2002 where he enjoyed spending time at Riomar Golf Club and his home at the Moorings, hosting his children and grandchildren on their many visits over the years.
Art was predeceased by his wife of 66 years Jeanne, his sister Carol Sue and her husband Bill Emmons, his sister-in-law Peggy and her husband Jim Reiley and brother-in-law Ray Welsh.
He is survived by his daughters Joy and her husband Robert Nagy (Summit, NJ), Amy and her husband Steve Atcheson (Vero Beach, FL), and son A.T. and his wife Linda (Charlotte, NC), and grandsons Stuart Castillo and his wife Emma (Seattle, WA) and Gordon Castillo and his wife Casey (Bend, OR).
The family is eternally grateful to the staff at Cuthbertson Village of Aldersgate for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Mr. Castillo.
