Mr. Autwell, age 96, of Charlotte passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Levine and Dickson Hospice House.
He was born June 25, 1916 in Gadesden, Alabama the son of the late Willie Lee Autwell and Minnie Bell Battles Autwell. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie Autwell and brother, Raymond Autwell.
Mr. Autwell served his country proudly during WWII in the United States Army Airforce in the South Philippines. He traveled extensively with his wife and enjoyed being able to see the continental United States, Hawaii and Alaska. Paul retired from a career with Charlotte Mecklenburg Utilities and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Surviving are his brother, Gordon Autwell of Glencoe, Alabama; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 5400 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
