Barbara Ann Edwards

Barbara Edwards, 72, of Charlotte, died on March 7, 2011 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Her cherished memory will forever live in the hearts of her husband, children, grandchildren and the rest of her devoted family.

Barbara was born on June 25, 1938 to the late John C. and Thelma J. Hill Sims. She was a graduate of Central High School as well as charter and a lifelong member of the Belmont Park UMC and later it was named University City United Methodist Church in Charlotte.

Survivors include her husband Richard Edwards of Charlotte; a son Tripp Hoover and his wife Robin of Pineville, NC; daughters Lisa Roller and her husband Dr. Jeff Roller of Morganton, NC; Melanie Underwood and her husband Rick of Monroe, NC; 3 grandchildren Tabatha Hoover, Samantha and Bradley Roller; brother, Gerald T. Sims; sister in law Jeanie Sims. Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her brother William C. Sims.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at McEwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210 with Rev. Gail Werstlein officiating. Burial will follow in Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 7407 Steele Creek Rd., Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. before the service at McEwen Pineville Chapel. Memorials may be made to Presbyterian Hospice, 324 N.
