

Mrs. Moss was born on May 23, 1943, in Loraine, Texas, the daughter of W.O. Graham and Gracie May Graham, both deceased. She graduated from Midland (Texas) High School in 1961, and on Aug. 29, 1961, married Gary Grant Moss of Midland. Gary and Barbara first moved to Texas A&M University in College Station, where Gary was a student, and two years later he was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force. A career officer, Col. Moss died in 2011. They had been married 50 years and Mrs. Moss had dedicated her life to her husband’s career and raising her children.
At the time of her death Mrs. Moss was wed to David Stowe of Gastonia, N.C., where she enjoyed retirement and raised chickens and roosters.
Mrs. Moss is survived by two sons, Timothy Moss and wife Joanne of Tampa, FL, and David Moss and wife LaDonna of Celina, Texas and Jeff Alexander, Nashville, TN, who she considered a son; one daughter, Shayle McIntosh and husband Brandon of Charlotte; 13 grandchildren: Ashley Lantz, Jake Moss, Gus Burpoe, Josh Brown, Sydni Moss, Jackson Moss, Harper McIntosh, Julian McIntosh, Laurel McIntosh, Lisa Jenkins, Tyler Jenkins, Zach Stowe, and Nick Stowe; and two great-grandchildren: Sophie Lantz and Paxton Lantz.
Mrs. Moss dedicated her life to her family. She was one of the gentle souls God places on earth to remind us that, yes, there are angels amongst us.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Harry & Bryant Funeral Home, 500 Providence Road in Charlotte, N.C. (704-332-7133). Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, January 27 at the funeral home, with burial procession following and service at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont, N.C.
