Barbara Jean Huggins

November 30, 1939July 19, 2020

Barbara Jean (Bobbie) Huggins, 80, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother passed away early Sunday morning July 19, 2020 at Atrium Health University following a lengthy illness.

Born November 30, 1939 in Lumberton, NC, she was a daughter of the late Radcliffe and Olivia Williams Walters.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William B. (Bill) Huggins; Son’s, Keith Huggins and his wife Terrie and Mark Huggins and his wife Carter, one granddaughter, Lauren Huggins and one step- granddaughter, Abby Morris; two sisters, Linda Sue Thorndyke and Carolyn Messer and husband Ralph; a half-brother, Ricky Walters; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Grovenstein.

Barbara Jean was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Walters and a half-brother, Kevin Walters.

Friends may visit with the family Thursday, July 23, 2020 starting at 6:30 P.M.

The Memorial Service will begin following visitation at 7:30 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28262.
