Barbara Starnes

Barbara(Bobbie) Stephenson Starnes, 80 of Canton, Ga, passed away on July 15, 2014 in Canton, GA. She was born in Charlotte, NC on September 14, 1933 to Walter and Jean Stephenson. Barbara attended Thomasboro High School and works several years at the Union Carbide Plant in Charlotte. She loved to sew, cook, and spend time with her many sisters, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was sitting on a deck staring at the waves at Holden Beach.

She is survived by her children, Laura McCrorie Rhudy(Richard); James Robert “Rob” McCrorie, Jr., Anthony “Tony” Ronald Starnes, Kathy Starnes Hoover(Harlan); Grandchildren, Scott Alan Rhudy(Lisa), Carrie Rhudy Pepiot(Bobby), Houston Chadwick Rhudy(Jennifer), Savannah Rhudy Wilkie(Jason), John Thomas Smith(Susan), and Lisa Merritt(Dan); Great grandchildren, Jonathan and Kaitlyn Rhudy, Quinton and Adalyn Pepiot, Joshua and Jadon Wilkie, Catherine and Walker Smith, and Ashley Barwick; Great great grandchild, Chloe; and two sisters, Doris Stephenson and Martha Stephenson Harbin.

She is predeceased by her husband, Alfred Ronald Starnes; great granddaughter, Hannah Mae Martin; sisters, Mary Stephenson Bolt, Francis Stephenson Smith, and Joyce Stephenson Rothwell; and stepdaughter Donna Starnes Solomon.

Funeral will be Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 2PM, at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte. Reception will follow the graveside service at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered through www.forestlawnwest.com.
