Barry Allen Norris, age 71, of Charlotte, passed away May 23, 2016 at his residence. A visitation and memorial service will be from 1:00-2:30 PM Friday May 27, 2016 at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. A private graveside service will follow at a later date. Mr. Norris was born in Charlotte on September 5, 1944, son of the late Marvin E. and Mary B. Norris. He graduated from Myers Park High School before enlisting in the United States Air Force where he served his country for four years. After his military service, Mr. Norris returned to Charlotte and joined his father and sister, operating Norris Auto Service on East 4th Street for over 40 years. Mr. Norris was predeceased by his wife Sara Louise Norris, his sister Patricia Pringle and brother Michael Norris. Surviving are his step daughter Shari Huneycutt Anderson of Indian Trail, NC, and step sons Tony Stephen Huneycutt of Tampa, Florida, and Hawell Craig Huneycutt and wife Julia Mueller of Mooresville, NC. He is also survived by his brother in law Joe Pringle, three nieces, two nephews, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region will be appreciated.
