David--I am sure you are looking upon us with your enormous smile and exuberant good cheer. You will be missed, dear friend. It is hard to imagine a scholarship auction without you--you have been a steady presence at Penland for well over my 15 years. Your energy and enthusiasm helped us close each session as a celebration of creativity--and we raised a lot of dollars for scholarships in the process!

I had the opportunity to meet David a few years ago and he was truly one of the most pleasant guys to play golf with.  He was a positive person who was a pleasure to get to know.

I am sorry for his family's loss ~ he will be missed.

David brought heart and soul to his work with the Penland School of Crafts.  I always felt so fortunate if I was seated in an auction with David leading the charge.  His light will be missed.  Peace.

David was a dearly loved person in our EMBA Class of 2000 at Queens College. There was a special bond among us and David was one of the jewels in that crown. May God bless his family and his dear daughter Annika.
