Benjamin Loman Bright III

Benjamin Loman Bright III, 84, passed away on January 29, 2024. He was born June 28, 1939 to Benjamin Loman Bright Jr. and Mary Epting Bright. In addition to his parents, Ben was predeceased by his sisters Patricia (Pat) Bright Springer and Mary Annette (Ann) Bright Bridges.

Ben graduated from Central High School in 1958 and attended Charlotte College (now CPCC). He then began a long and successful career in sales, winning many awards. Ben was an active member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church for many years, singing in the choir and served on various committees.

In addition to playing golf, he loved antique cars and refinishing old furniture. Ben was a joy to be around. He was funny and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed people and maintained a circle of friends throughout his life.

Surviving is his wife Sylvia Harris Bright, his high school sweetheart and wife of 61 years, his sons Benjamin Richard Bright, Larry Alan Bright, and Kevin Lee Bright, and his grandson Camron Alan Bright whom he was so proud of.

Services will be on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Commonwealth Methodist Church at 2434 Commonwealth Avenue, Charlotte, NC. Visitation hours are from 1:00-2:00 pm, followed by a service at 2:00 pm.
