Bernice Tucker

Mrs. Tucker, age 94, of Charlotte died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Asbury Care Center.

She was born in Anson County, NC on December 7, 1917 the daughter of the late Samuel P. and Lenora Broadway Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Tucker.

Mrs. Tucker was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church of Charlotte. She was a wonderful wife and mother and a favorite aunt to her many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She loved gardening, especially roses and her annual vegetable garden.

She is survived by her son, Frank Tucker and his wife Cheryl Palmer of Charlotte, NC.

A visitation will be held 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, February 20, 2012 at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery.

Special thanks to Alice Lee, a wonderful friend and caregiver who enabled Mrs. Tucker to remain in her home for many extra years. Also, thanks go to the wonderful staff of Asbury Care Center at Aldersgate and Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte Region for the care provided during the last months of her life.
