Born July 17, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence Bluhm. She graduated from John Adams High School in 1939. Bette went on to have a career in insurance, where she met William Brown, and after a whirlwind courtship she married him in 1956. Bette and Bill were married for 50 years. Bette retired from Scott Cars of Charlotte in 1985.
Bette was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church of Charlotte for 50 years. She enjoyed being involved with church activities, lunch with friends and the Atlanta Braves Baseball.
Bette is survived by her son James Brown, wife Kathy, sons James and Michael of California and her daughter Kim Stewart, husband Mark, children Christopher, Mark, and Melissa of Charlotte and three beloved grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Brown and her sister Margorie Osborn.
A service to celebrate Bette's life will be held at 12:30 pm Sunday, September 30th, in All Saints Lutheran Church, 17030 Lancaster Hwy., Charlotte, NC 28277, with Pastor Jeffrey Ware presiding.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to All Saints Lutheran Church.
